“Mi nombré es Felipe Lopez. Tengo 39 años y tengo trabajando el barro 30 años.”
Lifelong Ceramist from Mexico
As an artisan working with clay, Felipe has spent 30 of his 39 years. His parents, who were also ceramists, passed down their craft to his young hands.
A Family Tradition of Ceramic Art
“Esta es mi biografia personal desde muy chico me empezo a gustar la pintura y el arte por el barro por que con el barro se expresan los sentimientos y el amor por eso lo exprezo en mis esculturas.”
“My person history,”states the artist, “is that since being a very small boy I started to enjoy art and painting. I especially like working clay because I am able to express my feelings and love in my sculptures.”
Lopez’ work shows the progression of time that he has been at his art form. As he expresses very modern forms, he allows each a soft humbleness by leaving the execution imperfect, very natural and not at all rigid.
